The Blessed

James 5:10
When I prayed about this first blog I asked the lord for a verse.  What came to my mind was James 10 & 5.  I am not a bible scholar and I am not familiar with James.  After spending some time meditating on James 5:10, the part that harmonized with my spirit was Be a Blessing.
What does it mean to be a blessing or to be blessed?  You know that person who always brings a smile to your mind?  Always thinking of the other person first.  They put themselves last and sacrifice for the other.  Selfless.  Hero. Heroine.  Saint.
We are all called to greatness in God through Jesus Christ, His son.  We are His saints and are needed to answer the call.  This is a site for Warriors.  Prayer warriors, helpers, healers, lovers of people and their souls, just as Jesus loved us.  We are His sons and daughters and as such are called to love extravagantly and with abandon as He does in order to heal the broken hearted, and bring life to the wounded.  To live a life of abundance and a blessed life means trusting in Jesus for all of our cares and concerns.  It is also a call for action.  The action of lifting up this lonely, lost world full of wanderers via prayer and fasting, keeping close to the lord in daily meditation and communion and continuing to strive for holiness through obedience to God.
The blessed go through the exact same struggles as we do with a different response.  We usually try, fall, get mad or sad, get up, brush off our knees and try again.  No shame in that but it is all on US.  The blessed do it differently.  They have learned the secret of leaning on Jesus.  As St. John the beloved showed us at the last supper.  The apostles were all distressed about the lord’s message of leaving them and going to be crucified, also that He would be betrayed by one of them!  John leaned into Jesus. John didn’t ask the other apostles who would betray the Lord. John asked Jesus.  Jesus told him it was the one who dips the bread in the cup when I do.  When the soldiers came and took Jesus to prison, all the disciples scattered and then Peter denied him.  But John was the only one of the 12 apostles there with Jesus at the foot of the cross alongside Mary, His beloved mother and the Mother of all God’s brothers and sisters/the redeemed.
Saints try, saints fall, saints get mad, and saints get up and brush off their wounded knees and try again. Most importantly Saints ask Jesus for help!  Saints don’t rely on themselves, because they know they can’t do it by themselves.  They are privileged to know they are nothing and God is all. Put another way; they know the all they are is because of God’s grace and Holy Spirit empowerment, and not the other way around. Saints of God rejoice, The Lord is your Shepherd, Psalm 23 KJV.  “THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD; I SHALL NOT WANT.  HE MAKES ME LIE DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES: HE LEADS ME BESIDE STILL WATERS. HE RESTORES MY SOUL. HE LEADS ME IN RIGHT PATHS FOR HIS NAME’S SAKE.”
