Blessed Sunday all! Today’s meditation and reflection is from Genesis chapter 5: WALK WITH GOD. May God continue to bless you and strengthen your walk with Him today and every day this New Year in Jesus name! Tonight during church We celebrated the Epiphany of the three Kings coming to adore Jesus as the infant King with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Here Jesus is the King of Kings adored in a humble stable. With St. Joseph, the carpenter, His foster father and the Blessed Virgin Mary, His mother at His side, as well as the shepherds and animals He created. During the mass I recognized the scent of fresh cut wood over a period of time. It smelled like a carpenters shop and I love that smell; and it reminded me of St. Joseph, the carpenter and protector of the Holy family. And then I thought of Jesus; who was called by the people He knew, “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son?” In reply to His being proclaimed the Messiah and being able to perform miracles in His own town. So I was reminded of that too. This Son of the carpenter, is also the Son of the Creator; who made the entire earth and world; and can certainly handle our little problem’s. What does it mean to walk with God? In some ways; I believe it is to be sensitive to Him as He is always sending us signs of His love and His promises to us; which are yes and Amen! These anchors of hope can hold our ships straight in the storms of life and keep us on course; never wavering from our eternal port in heaven. I did look up the meaning of spiritual scents and found that the scent of fresh wood means royalty; so very fitting for the King of Kings that we celebrated today with the three Kings! 🙏
