1/13/23: todays meditation: THE LORD IS ABOUT TO DESTROY IT. In todays meditation in Genesis Chapter 19 we see that the fiancés of Lots daughters were warned by Lot to leave the city the night prior to its destruction; but they did not believe him. The city was destroyed early the next morning and those men were destroyed along with it. How many times does God give us a warning not to do something; or to leave an area right away or to move and we do not obey? Ultimately, being Gods friend involves trusting in Gods word above your own reason and attachments. Lots wife, although she left the city with Lot and their daughters, turned back to look upon the city to her destruction. She was turned to a pillar of salt. The wrath of God is holy and should not be looked upon; and perhaps she was attached to her past life and looked back. Once the Lord tells you to go and do; put your hand to the plow and don’t look back. Don’t rely on your own understanding but trust the Lord. Your life and your future may depend on it! 🙏
