Todays meditation:
IT IS THE BLOOD AS LIFE THAT MAKES ATONEMENT.
It is the blood of the pascal lamb, Jesus, who makes atonement for our sins. His blood which He shed for us on the cross. He said at the last supper; this is my body, this is my blood, do this in remembrance of me. Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood shall have life in them, my life shed for them since the foundation of the world. Gods plan for our salvation was always to shed His own blood for us; that we may be purified and atoned by His blood. That we would have His life blood of pure sacrifice as a covering and redemption for our lives stained by sin. So we could say with St. Paul, because of His blood and life in us; it is not I who lives but Christ who lives in Me.
